City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on January 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the December 10, 2012 meeting were approved as read.

Council members Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan and Mayor Brad Prins were sworn into office.

The city offices were reviewed by the council. Motion Ryker, second Duroe, unanimous votes for the offices to remain the same.

The City Fee schedule was reviewed by the council. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to keep the fees as is for 2013.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to offer the 108’ x 141’ lot for $1,000 to the interested party.

Dan Benz requests a check from the city in the amount of $654 for the Relief Association for the required supplement, which is due in January of 2013.
Animal Control Officer Olson reported that the Thomas house has stray cats living inside. Olson suggests that something be done or the cat population will increase.

An engagement letter from the auditor Burkhardt & Burkhardt was reviewed by the council and signed by the mayor. Motion Duroe, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the letter.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote to approve the home occupation permit for Anna Rhubee.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan to pay all bills and approve the financial report, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:04 p.m. having no further business.
