City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on January 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the January 14, 2013 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Dave Bucklin, Cottonwood Soil and Water

Mychael Swan from Agrinatural Gas who was on the Agenda called and will attend the next meeting on February 11, 2013.

Bucklin was present to discuss the Jeffers Urban Tree Program. He explained the city needs to match $400 from the Cottonwood Soil funds and then the city would receive $800 to purchase trees at $80/tree. The trees are 6 to 8 feet tall and come in a 10 gallon pot. The Conservation Corp will plant the trees and Lance will arrange Gopher One.

The council agreed they would participate in the program and match the $400 to get 10 trees. Three residents expressed interest last year, so they will be able to purchase trees at $40/tree to plant in a spot on their property that is beneficial to the city.

Lance reported 6 comp hours.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to pay all bills and approve the financial report, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:45 p.m. having no further business.
