City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on February 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the February 11, 2013 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Mychael Swan – Agrinatural Gas

Swan would like to hold a meeting in May to find out what kind of interest the citizens of Jeffers have. 70% participation is necessary for natural gas to come to Jeffers.

A tentative starting date for Jeffers would be the beginning of July. Meter reading and billing would be done by Agrinatural Gas.

A typical bill for a city resident would be $105 per winter month and $10 per month during the non-heating season. Any conversions that need to be done will be paid for in approximately two years with the savings.

A worker will be stationed in Heron Lake for emergencies that come up with natural gas.

Hours for the City Clerk’s office beginning March 11, 2013 through March 25, 2013 are as follows:
March 12, 15 and 19th – 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
March 20th – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to pay all bills and approve the financial report, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:50 p.m. having no further business.
