City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on April 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Present:  Mayor Pro-Tem:  Roberta Duroe; Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk.  Absent:  Mayor Brad Prins

Mayor Pro-Tem Duroe called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Minutes from the April 8, 2013 meeting were approved as read.

Lance spoke with Crysteel from Lake Crystal and if we wait until State Fair time, there will be good sales.  The price right now would be $7,695 for the salting machine and plow.  Lance proposes the council wait until August for the sale price.

The clerk contacted Lucy Swenson regarding the no-fault sewer backup resolution.  Swenson contacted the League of Minnesota underwriter and is waiting for a response.

The clerk checked with Storden and Westbrook per the Mayor’s request regarding a declaration of emergency for the last ice storm.  Neither Storden nor Westbrook declared an emergency.

Lance and Mark Jones videotaped the damage that occurred in Jeffers for reference.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote to move $20,000 from the water fund to the general account for bills.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:28 p.m. having no further business.
