City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.  Present:  Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan.  Absent:  Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk.    Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Minutes from the August 12, 2013 meeting were approved as read.Visitors:  Vince Robinson, Development Services Inc. (DSI) presented information on the Small City Development Program for Housing and Businesses. This program is designed to help better the community for the future.  The council decided to go ahead with DSI sending a letter to the residence discussing the facts and information on the program.  Motion Determan to have DSI write a letter and survey the towns housing with expenses not exceeding $1,500, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve the letter and expenses.People in town are wondering what is going on with the Natural Gas.  Sharen or Sheila will call Mike Driscoll at Agrinatural Gas to see what is happening.Brad talked with Dave Bucklin about community members purchasing trees for their property.  A letter will be sent out to people to see who is interested in purchasing a tree.  The letter will state that all trees need to be planted 15 feet from the street or on a boulevard.  Trees will be delivered next spring.  Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to pay bills and approve the financial report, unanimous vote.Motion Determan, second Duroe, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:59 p.m. having no further business.
