Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the October 14, 2013 meeting were approved as read.A resident’s water bill situation was discussed. Water service was shutoff on October 21, 2013 due to non-payment.Sharen reported on a conversation with Teresa from DSI. The council needs to take action on permitting the mayor to sign the preliminary proposal that will be complete in a week or so. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to allow the mayor to sign the proposal.Teresa also recommended that the city set aside an amount of $10,000 instead of the $7,000 amount originally decided upon by the council.Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe. Votes as follows: Prins, Ryker, Dorr-Jones, and Duroe – Aye and Determan – Nay. Motion carried.Lance reported on the estimates for the fire hall heaters. Motion Ryker, second Duroe to go with Tri-Town Plumbing and Heating. Tri-Town will also take care of the rest of the needs of the city in regard to the natural gas switchover.Water mains and sewer lines were flushed. Jerry Gentry assisted Lance with this.Lance has contacted The Road Guy for street sweeping. This will happen in the next two weeks.Correspondence from Ecos Energy was reviewed regarding the easement granted to them. The council agreed to continue participating in this project.Mayor Prins reported that the fire department will be visiting with the township boards regarding the addition on the fire hall.Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote to pay the bills and approve the financial report.Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:50 p.m. having no further business.
