City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on May 10, 2010 at 7:00 PM at City Hall.  Present:  Mayor Brad Prins; Council members:  Curt Johnson, Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk.  Absent:  Curt Determan

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Minutes of the April 26, 2010 meeting were approved as read.

Visitors:  Todd Hagen, Rene Celedon
               
Todd Hagen from Ehlers, Inc. presented the Sale Report from the results of the Bond sale on May 10, 2010.

Low bidder was Profinium Financial, Fairmont, Minnesota.  The true interest cost is 2.4414%.

#2010-08 Resolution Providing for the Issuance, Sale and Delivery of $455,000 General Obligation Temporary Improvement Bonds, Series 2010A was introduced motion Johnson, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to adopt said resolution.

Lance reported that the restroom doors at the city park are in need of replacement.  He provided an estimate from Gramstad Lumber for $1,002.68 for 2 steel doors and items needed to install.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to purchase doors using the Emergency Alert fund.  Unanimous vote.

City Maintenance Bids were opened.  The lone bid was from Jeffers Dray Line.  Motion Duroe, second Johnson, unanimous vote to approve the bid from Jeffers Dray Line for City Maintenance.

Two building permits were reviewed.   
    •    concrete driveway
    •    driveway, sidewalk and patio.

Motion Duroe, second Johnson, unanimous vote to approve the building permits.

The MPCA approval letter was reviewed.

Motion Duroe, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote, to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Johnson, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. having no further business.
