City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on July 14, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker. Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Curt Determan.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the June 23, 2014 meeting were approved as read.

Visitors: Rene Celedon, Stuart & Darlene Therkelsen, Rod Rindfleisch, Jason Luckhardt – DSI, Sandy Wood

Jason Luckhardt – DSI was present to present Resolution #2014-04.

Resolution #2014-04 Adopting Small Cities Development Grant Plans & Documents

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to accept Resolution #2014-04.

Rod Rindfleisch was present to inform the council that he will move the new trailer off the property. The council gave Rindfleisch until September 1, 2014 to complete this.

Building permits from: Matt Langland, Susan Miller and Jack Determan were reviewed.

Motion Duroe, second Ryker, unanimous vote, pending Slim’s approval.

The clerk will send a letter to 220 S. Courthouse requesting the tires stored behind the home be removed.

Motion Ryker, second Duroe, to award the following:

Langland/Carter Construction – City Hall and Ball Park Concession Stand = $20,450

Pudenz Construction – Fire Hall, Picnic Shelter, Park Restrooms = $15,900

Johnson & Johnson Construction – Concrete/Water Treatment Plant = $9,560

Voting: Prins – Yes, Ryker – Yes, Duroe – Yes, Dorr-Jones – Abstained.

Motion carried.

Lance reported that Quam will only pay for half of the sidewalk repair for a total of $1,200.

Motion Duroe, second Ryker, unanimous vote to fix both areas on the sidewalk.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Duroe, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:30 p.m. having no further business.
