City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on May 24, 2010 at 7:00 PM at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Curt Johnson, Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the May 10, 2010 meeting were approved as read.

A city intersection was discussed. Dust control will be applied on May 26th and the street sweeper is schedule to come soon. Lance plans to get some new grates made up for the storm sewer.

Expired vehicles and lawns that need to be mowed were discussed. The clerk will send letters.

The Clerk informed the council of the deficiency judgment on the Ertz property that was filed in court by City Attorney Dan McDonald. The amount is $7,208.35. Ertz has until October 1, 2010 to pay it or the City can certify it to the property.

The Clerk gave an update from Dennis Nelson on the upcoming city projects.

The clerk reported that tax exempt properties on Whited Street are not tax exempt from special assessments for the upcoming projects.

The council discussed delinquent water accounts and shut off letters

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote, to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Johnson, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:17 p.m. having no further business.
