City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on April 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Shawna Dorr-Jones

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the April 14, 2015 meeting were approved as read.

A property dispute was reported on South Courthouse to the Mayor. The mayor told them to contact the County Recorders office.

The decision on the Graft Semi-Trailer was the council decided to deny the permit allowing the semi-trailer on residential property.

The Clerk has not heard from DSI regarding the public hearing for opening the target area up to other residents.

The new steel for the water plant is all in place. Jack Determan purchased the old steel for the price that would have been received for recycling it.

Ryker reported that some street signs are in need of replacement. Lance will check out the signs and start by replacing the ones most in need of repair.

The house across from the school on N. Courthouse was discussed. There is a large amount of garbage overflowing from the garage. The clerk was asked to send a letter to Edeline Friest to ask what her intentions are with the garbage. She will be urged to contact Hometown Sanitation or the Cottonwood County Landfill.

Need to check with the Knakmuhs Agency about the ball field lights and bathrooms to see if their damage is covered by insurance.

EMT renewal reimbursement was discussed by the council. Tabled until another meeting.

Motion Duroe, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. having no further business.
