City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on July 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent: Sheila Ryker, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.
Visitor: Rosemary Wendland
Wendland was present to see how the nuisance ordinance was coming along.
The Clerk presented the nuisance ordinance and letter prepared by the City Attorney for review. Ordinance 65A was reviewed by the council.
Dorr Jones moved to adopt Ordinance 65A, seconded by Determan. Unanimous vote.
A building permit for David Bennett was reviewed by the council. Motion Duroe, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve the permit with no fee.
The council has concerns about DSI and the Small Cities Development grant. The council has asked someone from DSI to come at 6:30 p.m. before the public hearing on July 20th to answer some questions.
Dorr-Jones reported on the property next to her residence that Donna Stressman went through it and it is ready to come down as soon as Drayline can do it.
Water rates were discussed. The clerk will check with area towns to see what they charge.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Duroe, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:20 p.m. having no further business.
