City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on July 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.  Present:  Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.  Absent:   Sharen Goeman, Clerk.  

Visitor:  Mindy Carter

Water rates were discussed.  Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote to increase the base rate for water to $17.00 for the first 2,000 gallons.

The council recommended Lance spray the town again for mosquitos.

Discussion was had regarding sending notification to residents not compliant with Ordinance 65A.  Brad has a list.

Lance reported the meter at the well site has quit working.  Lance needs to replace it.  Also the check valve is not working.  The meter will cost $2,000 and check valve $390.  Lance will do the maintenance.

The water tower was cleaned, report to follow.

Lance will call to find out when the seal coating will take place.

 
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. having no further business.
