City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Lance Holmen, Maintenance, Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

A building permit for Jack Determan was reviewed. Motion Duroe, second Ryker. Unanimous vote, Determan abstains.

A fence permit for Chantelle Martin was reviewed. Motion Ryker, second Duroe, unanimous vote.

Alliant Energy Notice of Assignment was reviewed. Interstate Power and Light Company Assigned the electric franchise granted by the City Council of the City of Jeffers, County Of Cottonwood, State of Minnesota, approved on March 14, 2011 by ordinance No. 69 And effective March 30, 2011.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to approve the Notice of Assignment, unanimous vote.

Lance updated the council on the building that Cottonwood County has purchased on County Road 4.

Lance presented the water tower evaluation report from Scandia Consulting.

A new hydrant was purchased due to the damage from the car accident. Charges for the hydrant and Drayline will be billed to the driver.

The tree that is down in the park will be taken care of by Keck Tree Service.

The concession stand at the ball park was broken in to. A new window was ordered.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote that the restroom at the ball park will be demolished and porta potties will be used going forward. A waterline will be bore in to bring the water closer to the concession stand.

An estimate will be obtained from Donna Stressman for cleaning the property on Woodman. Lance will take care of this.

Dorr-Jones suggested putting up signs near the park for children at play.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:25 p.m.
