City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on June 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Curt Johnson, Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the May 24, 2010 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Craig Mueller – Wenck Associates

Color choices were discussed for the water tower.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to paint the tower Monterey Tile including the legs. The top will be white; Jeffers will be painted on two sides in white. No zip code will be on the tower.

Craig Mueller presented the 2010 Street and Utilities Improvement Project. The council reviewed the project with Mueller.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to adopt Resolution #2010-09 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE 2010 STREET AND UTILITIES IMPROVEMENT PROJECT S.A.P. 17-632-01.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan to adopt Resolution #2010-10 RESOLUTION APPROVING COUNTY PROJECT WITHIN MUNICIPAL CORPORATE LIMITS.

Mueller updated the council on the pond project. Svoboda Excavating will come in by July 4th and begin sometime after the 4th.

A building permit was reviewed for a resident to construct a deck on his house. Motion Duroe, second Johnson, unanimous vote to approve the permit.

Home occupation permits for Milford Sinnamon, Richard Sykora and Dennis Beukelman were reviewed. Motion Johnson, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve the permits.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Johnson, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:45 p.m. having no further business.
