City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on September 26, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones. Sharen Goeman Clerk, Lance Holman, Maintenance. Absent: Sheila Ryker.
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the September 12, 2016 meeting were approved as read.
The Winter Snow Plowing Agreement from Cottonwood County was reviewed. Motion Dorr- Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve the agreement.
Lance reported the street sweeper should be in Jeffers any day now.
A new fluoride pump is needed for the water plant. Lance presented an estimate from DSG for $1,880.38.
Motion Determan, second Duroe, unanimous vote to purchase a GRUNDFOS DDA 7.5-16 Dosing Pump for $1,880.38 from DSG.
John Hubley was present to report on his decision from the recent dangerous dog hearing he presided over. After reviewing all the information, Hubley deemed the dogs of Bonnie Lewis and John Garritson to be labeled dangerous dogs.
Motion Duroe, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to pay Hubley $100 for his service.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan to declare the dogs of Bonnie Lewis aka “Bear “ and John Garritson aka “Buddy” as dangerous dogs, unanimous vote. They are required to follow the rules of the Minnesota Statute 347.51 which include: registration, warning symbol, fee, and microchip.
Lance will have the sewer line televised by Hydroclean.
The clerk will send a thank you to the city of Windom for their help with pumping the water last week.
The Luck house was burned on September 24th and the Scheidt is down. Mayor Prins suggested getting ideas for a new city sign.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Determan, second Duroe, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:38 p.m. having no further business.
