City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on October 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Council members: Sheila Ryker, Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr- Jones. Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent: Mayor Brad Prins, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Pro Tem Roberta Duroe called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the October 10, 2016 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Jed Rhubee

Rhubee presented the Firemans Pay for 2016. A new officer position was created in 2016. Ryan Harder is the Training Officer. Rhubee gave the clerk a copy of the Fire Departments Bylaws. Amendments could be made at the upcoming annual meeting due to some requirements not being met by members. Rhubee also presented a bill from Cottonwood County Highway for street sweeping following the overlay of the city streets.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay the fireman annual pay of $6,464.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay Cottonwood County Highway $6,189.07 for street sweeping.

The clerk presented the Jeffers First Responder pay for 2016 of $1,820. Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay the first responders.

Ryker reported that some of the street signs are hard to see and should be replaced. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. having no further business.
