City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on December 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Council members: Mayor Brad Prins, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Roberta Duroe

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the November 28, 2016 meeting were approved as read.

Resolution #2016-01 Unpaid Charges To Be Collected With Taxes was reviewed by the council.

Second  Determan
Approving the resolution with a unanimous vote.

Motion Determan, second Ryker to give city the Public Works Superintendent and Clerk/Treasurer a 2% pay increase effective January 1, 2017, unanimous vote.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to increase the animal control officers annual pay from $250 to $300.
Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to increase Peggy Hubleys wage from $16.50/ hour to $17/hour.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to increase the Zoning Commissions administrator pay from $300 to $350 plus 80% of the building permit fees.

The clerk will check with Knakmuhs Agency and the League of MN Cities regarding sewer backup.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to purchase a new bracket and cylinder for the plow on the grader.

Motion Ryker, second Determan to reduce the animal control fines for Angela Kirst from $200 to $75. Dorr-Jones, Determan, Ryker  approves, Prins  oppose.

Christmas lights were discussed.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills until the end of the year and approve the financial report.
Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9 p.m. having no further business.
