City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on February 27, 2017. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Jed Rhubee, Sharen Goeman, Clerk/Treasurer, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Sheila Ryker

Mayor Prins call the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from January February 13, 2017 were approved as read.

A Wine and 3.2% Beer license has been requested by Mainstreet Coffee Shop Motion Dorr- Jones, second Determan to set a wine and 3.2% beer license at $750 approving Mainstreet Coffee shop’s request. Unanimous vote.

Discussion on purchasing the Jeffers school building was held and tabled until the next meeting.
Motion Rhubee, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to purchase 13 new banners for the street lights on White Street at $90 each.

Titan will be coming to check out the new grader and a leak in the filter at the water plant will be checked by Tonka filter company.

Christmas lights were discussed and tabled.

Mayor Prins and Jed will be attending a hearing at the capitol for the tax bill, which may include the 2014 LGA funding.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve the financial report and pay the bills.

Motion Determan, second Rhubee, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. having no further business.
