City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on May 8, 2017. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Jed Rhubee, Sharen Goeman, Clerk/Treasurer, Lance Holmen, Maintenance

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from April 24, 2017 were approved as read.

A building permit for 105 S. Courthouse was reviewed and tabled for more information. The clerk will contact Slim regarding specifics for building permits.

The clerk will contact Donna at the Cottonwood County Landfill to have her go through the property on Best Avenue that is to be demolished.

Residents who are storing appliances in the open on their property will be notified.
Motion Rhubee, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to remove all four stop signs on the east side of the school.

Water rates were discussed. Due to recommendations from the audit that the water enterprise fund is not producing enough revenue, it is necessary to increase the rate.
Motion Ryker, second Rhubee, unanimous vote to raise the base rate for water to $20.00. Street work was discussed and tabled until the next meeting.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:32 p.m. having no further business.
