City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on June 12, 2017. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Jed Rhubee, Sharen Goeman, Clerk/Treasurer, Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Absent: Sheila Ryker

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from May 22, 2017 were approved as read.

Visitors: SMC Representative, Sandra Wood
SMC was present to go over budget numbers given for street improvements.

Wood was present to inquire on progress regarding 220 S. Courthouse. The clerk reported that a court hearing is set for June 20, 2017 for the city attorney to ask for enforcement of the city council order.

Building permits for a ramp, deck and loading dock were reviewed.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve all permits.

A hearing date for the dangerous dog issue was set for June 26, 2017 at 6 p.m.

Bed races will be on County Road 52 instead of Whited Street for Outlaw Days. Rhubee will take care of the requirements.

Delinquent water bills were discussed.

The clerk will check with the attorney regarding street improvements and special assessment requirements.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Determan, second Rhubee, unanimous to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. having no further business.
