City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on September 25, 2017.  Present Mayor Brad Prins  Council members: Sheila Ryker, Jed Rhubee, Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones; Assistant Clerk/Treasurer Peggy Hubley and Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  The minutes from September 11, 2017 were approved as read.

There was continuing discussion on the possibility of the City of Jeffers connecting to Red Rock Rural Water because of the expense of rehabilitating the water filter in the  Jeffers treatment plant.   Dominic Jones and Patrick Deering addressed the concerns of the council regarding this matter.  It was decided to have a public hearing on October 16, 2017.

Sheila Ryker reported that the trophies from the Jeffers Elementary School are now being stored in the City Hall.  She mentioned the possibility of setting them out so people could take what they want at Outlaw Days next summer.

Lance was told to go ahead to prepare the ice-skating rink for winter.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Determan, second Rhubee, unanimous vote to adjourn at 10:00 p.m. having no further business.
