City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on November 13, 2017.  Present:  Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Jed Rhubee, Curt Determan; Assistant Clerk Peggy Hubley and Lance Holmen, Maintenance

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  The minutes from October 23, 2017 were approved as read.

         Sandy Olson

There was discussion about the number of feral cats in the city and it was decided to purchase some live traps.

Motion Rhubee, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay Animal Control Officer, Sandy Olson in November instead of in January.

There was discussion on the City switching to Red Rock Rural Water including discussion on eliminating two fiberglass tanks housed under the water tower.  The council answered some questions from visitors, Mike and Doris Sale concerning the changeover for rural customers.

Motion Determan, second Rhubee, unanimous vote to approve Liquor, Cigarette, and Pool Table Licenses for Jeffers Liquor and cigarette license for Rykers City Meats.

Motion Rhubee, Second Determan, unanimous vote to upgrade the Vote Tabulation Machine and the Automark Machine using as partial payment the grant money that is presently being applied for by Cottonwood County Auditor/Treasurer.

A building permit was presented  for a building.  Motion Determan, second Rhubee with a triple fine for not getting the permit before the work was started.  Unanimous vote.

Rhubee presented the Firemans pay for 2017.  Motion Determan, Second, Rhubee, unanimous vote to pay the fireman annual pay of $4610.00.

Motion Determan, Second Rhubee, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Determan, Second Rhubee, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:15 having no further business.
