City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on June 11, 2018 at Jeffers City Hall. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Jed Rhubee. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Visitor: Troy Rasmussen  Back 40 Wireless

Mayor Prins call the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from May 14, 2018 were approved as read.
Rasmussen was present to inform the council of what Back 40 Wireless could provide to the city regarding internet and television access. Rasmussen will return to a future meeting with a proposal.

A building permit for a resident to install a cement pad for a solar generator was reviewed, motion Determan, second Rhubee, unanimous vote to approve the permit.

A building permit for a resident to install a sidewalk on his property was reviewed, motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

A building permit for a resident to cement their driveway was reviewed, motion Dorr- Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote, Prins abstained.

New lights were installed in the city park shelter.

Red Rock Rural Water requested one more month before the water switch over due to another project that takes precedent.

The clerk will call a property owner to get permission to remove garbage.

Council member Jed Rhubee presented a formal resignation to the council effective immediately.

RESOLUTION #2018-01 ACCEPTING COUNCIL MEMBER RESIGNATION AND DECLARING A VACANCY
Adopted: Dorr-Jones
Seconded: Determan
Unanimous vote to accept Rhubees resignation effective immediately.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.
Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. having no further business.
