City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on July 23, 2018 at Jeffers City Hall. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Jake Barlow, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from July 9, 2018 were approved as read.

Visitors: Susan Goeman, Jeffers Lions Sandra Wood
Dominic Jones, RRRW

Susan Goeman of the Jeffers Lions was present to request permission to hang a new bulletin board for the Lions Club in the Council Room. Goeman also updated the council on the progress of the school picture project. Goeman inquired about the lack of city business signs on State Highway 30 and also inquired about researching the cost of a new sign for the City.

Sandra Wood was present to inquire about the property next to them on Courthouse Avenue. The clerk will contact the city attorney to get the information.

Dominic Jones, Red Rock Rural Water presented the purchase agreement to the council for the well. Changes were made on the agreement and this will go to the attorney for revisions.

Jones will be present at the next meeting to finalize the agreement and get approval.

A bid for city maintenance was opened from Jeffers Dray Line. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to close the citys zoning savings account.

Lance presented options for pumps for that the City could purchase to pump water when necessary.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial reports.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:25 p.m. having no further business.
