City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM at City Hall.  Present:  Mayor Brad Prins; Council members:  Curt Johnson, Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk

Visitors:  Rod Sykora, Dan Benz,

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Minutes of the August 9, 2010 meeting were approved as read.

Rod Sykora and Dan Benz were present to receive authorization from the city council to purchase a 1993 ALF Pumper fire truck for $31,100.  

Motion Determan, second Duroe, motion carried to purchase the truck for $31,100.

The fire department also purchased a trailer for the ATV that was previously purchased.  The trailer is 7 x 14 and cost $5,250.

Resolution #2010-14 Authorizing the City to Enter into a Credit Enhancement Program Agreement with the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority introduced by Dorr-Jones, seconded by Determan, unanimous vote.

Lance reported that Quam will start on August 30, 2010.  Electric Pump will finish at the ponds on August 31st.

Lance reported on unhealthy trees at the city park.  He will contact the county on using inmates to help with branches and painting the floor of the shelter house.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Johnson to increase the Ambulance annual reimbursement to $250/year.  Unanimous vote.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to pay all bills and approved the financial report.  Unanimous vote.

Motion Johnson, second Determan unanimous vote to adjourn the meeting at 8:47 p.m. having no further business.
