City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on January 14, 2019. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Jake Barlow, Sharen Goeman, Clerk/Treasurer, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins call the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from December 10, 2018 were approved as read.

Oath of Office documents were read and signed by Shawna Dorr-Jones and Sheila Ryker  incoming council members and Brad Prins, Mayor.

City offices were reviewed. Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve offices as provided.

RESOLUTION #2019-01 Adopting Lien for Unpaid Charges

Resolution #2019-01 was tabled until the next meeting. The clerk will check with the city attorney regarding water issues.

Cigarette, Liquor and pool tables licenses were reviewed and approved for 2019. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

The City Does Not Waive the monetary limits on municipal tort liability established by Minnesota Statutes, Section 466.04 to the extent of the limits of the liability coverage obtained from LMCIT.
   
Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

Motion Determan, second Barlow, unanimous vote to give the city staff a 2% pay increase for 2019.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to purchase testing equipment for water samples.

Discussion was held regarding adding sewer to the County shop at State Highway 30 and County Road 4.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve the financial report and pay the bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. having no further business.
