City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on March 11, 2019. Present Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Jake Barlow, Sharen Goeman, Clerk/Treasurer, Lance Holmen, Maintenance

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from February 25, 2019 meeting were approved as read.

John Hubley was present on behalf of Amboy Township to discuss extending a street within the city. The council was in favor of this idea. Hubley will also speak with Farmers Coop Oil Board and the Amboy Township Board.

A Warranty Deed between the City of Jeffers and Red Rock Rural Water System was reviewed. Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the Warranty Deed.

RESOLUTION #2019-02 AUTHORIZING TRANSFERRING OF FUNDS

The above referenced resolution authorizes transferring $10,000 from the General Fund to the Sewer Fund to synchronize accounting and budgeting procedures. Adopted by Dorr- Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote.

RESOLUTION #2019-03 AUTHORIZING A GAMBLING PREMISES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS

The above referenced resolution authorizes gambling premises to be located at 111 E. Whited Street also known as Jeffers Main Street Liquors, LLC, dba The Slipper, which is located within the city limits.

Adopted: Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.

RESOLUTION #2019-04 AUTHORIZING LIQUOR, TOBACCO AND CIGARETTE LICENSES FOR JEFFERS MAIN STREET LIQUORS LLC.

Adopted: Dorr-Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:12 p.m. having no further business.
