City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on June 24, 2019. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Jake Barlow, Lance Holmen, Maintenance, Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from June 10, 2019 meeting were approved as read.

Jed Rhubee from the Cottonwood County Highway department was present to discuss bringing a sewer line to the county shop on County Road 4 and Hwy 30. After discussion, the council agreed to bring the sewer line to the shop. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote.

The council discussed the dangerous dog license fee. No action was taken and it was tabled until the next meeting.

The clerk presented information from Ehlers regarding a refunding analysis for the Series 2010B Bond. The estimated savings is $36,941 or a 4.362% PV savings. The council agreed to pursue this option. Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones.

A building permit from Amboy Township was reviewed to build a post frame building on Peavey Street. Motion Determan, second Barlow to approve the permit.

Street repairs were discussed. Lance is getting estimates.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:32 p.m. having no further business.
