City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on July 22, 2019. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Jake Barlow, Lance Holmen, Maintenance, Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from July 8, 2019 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Todd Hagen, Ehlers

Hagen was present to present the Pre-Sale Report for the City of Jeffers, $773,000 General Obligation Improvement Refunding Bonds, Series 2019A

According to Hagen, the refunding will potentially save the city a little over $30,000 and eliminate paying an agent fee. The only fees involved for this refunding will be for the bond attorney and Ehlers fees.

This bond will come due in about 11 12 years. Hagen will also look at a 10 year alternative and get back to the city with that information by the August 12th council meeting.

RESOLUTION #2019-08 Providing for the Sale of $773,000 General Obligation Improvement Refunding Bonds, Series 2019A

Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.

A City Maintenance Bid was received from Jeffers Drayline. Motion Ryker, second Barlow to approve the bid, unanimous vote.

Lance will purchase a cold weather kit for the generator.

The county will inspect the trailer at 207 W. Scott Street before Drayline removes it.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:03 p.m. having no further business.
