City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on September 9, 2019. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Jake Barlow, Sharen Goeman, Clerk; Absent: Council member Sheila Ryker, Lance Holmen, Maintenance

Visitors: Shelby Arndtson

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The minutes from August 26, 2019 meeting were approved as read.

Arndtson was present to discuss the Sunday liquor license. A Sunday liquor license wont be able to be granted until it has been voted on by the residents of Jeffers. This needs to be done at a special, primary or general election. The next available time would be in February 2020.
Motion Determan, second Barlow to set a preliminary levy at 5% for 2020 for a total of $198,450.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote to approve a preliminary budget for 2020.

Discussion was held on the water situation at the corner of Whited and Stewart.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Determan, second Barlow, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. having no further business.
