City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on October 28, 2019. Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Sheila Ryker Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holman, Maintenance

Absent: Council member Jake Barlow

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from October 14, 2019 were approved as read.

Discussion was held on the building the county is proposing at the corner of County Road 4 and State Hwy 30. Mayor Prins proposed that a fire hydrant would need to be added for fire protection.

Estimates from Drayline and DSG were discussed.

Drayline: $21,500  sewer $ 4,750  water
DSG: $ 8,572  water $ 8,587  sewer

Lance agreed to take the Zoning Administrator position for $500/ year plus 80% of the permits.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve the appointment of Lance.

First Responder pay was presented by the clerk. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the pay.

A complaint from a resident was reviewed. A letter will be sent to a resident. Motion Dorr-Jones second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. having no further business.
