City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on November 25, 2019. Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holman, Maintenance. Absent: Council members: Sheila Ryker and Jake Barlow
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from November 11, 2019 were approved as read.
Jed Rhubee and Nick Klisch visitors
Rhubee requested an additional item be added to the Agenda of fire department business.
On behalf of the Jeffers Fire Department Rhubee asked that the city consider raising the fire department officers pay by an additional $100. Presently the pay is as follows: Chief - $200, Assistant Chief - $100, Secretary - $200 and Treasurer - $200.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan to approve the requested pay increase, unanimous vote. Beginning 2020 the officer pay will be as follows: Chief: $300, Assistant Chief - $200, Secretary - $300 and Treasurer - $300. The Jeffers Fire Department officers are:

Nick Klisch and Jed Rhubee presented a satellite photo and drawing of a proposed addition to the present county shop on County Road 4 and State Highway 30. Discussion was held regarding the sewer and water lines and the addition of a hydrant. The city will waive the new sewer and water service lines for the county.
Klisch and Rhubee will return with more solid information at a future meeting. Motion Dorr-Jones second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial reports.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan that there will be no council meeting on December 23rd and the clerk should pay all bills through the end of the year, unanimous vote.
Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8 p.m. having no further business.
