City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in regular session on December 9, 2019.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holman, Maintenance. Absent: Council members: Sheila Ryker and Jake Barlow

Mayor Pro-Tem Determan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from November 25, 2019 were approved as read.

The clerk presented:
RESOLUTION #2019-10 DESIGNATING CITY OF JEFFERS-JEFFERS CITY HALL, 106 S DEAVER AVENUE, JEFFERS MN FOR ELECTIONS CONDUCTED IN THE CITY IN 2020.

Adopted: Dorr-Jones Second: Ryker
Unanimous vote.


RESOLUTION #2019-11 ADOPTING LIEN FOR UNPAID CHARGES

Adopted: Ryker Second: Dorr-Jones
Unanimous vote.


RESOLUTION #2019-12 APPROVING THE 2020 TAX LEVY, COLLECTIBLE IN 2020

Adopted: Dorr-Jones Second: Barlow
Unanimous vote.


RESOLUTION #2019-13 APPROVING THE FINAL BUDGET FOR 2020

Adopted: Ryker Second: Barlow

Lance reported that he has received some solid numbers regarding the sewer line for the Cottonwood County shop.

On behalf of the Red Rock Central school district, Ryker requested that Jeffers City Hall be designated as the polling place for any Red Rock Central special election if the need should arise.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Barlow. Unanimous vote. Ryker abstains.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Barlow, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:30 p.m. having no further business.
