City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on January 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Jacob Barlow. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Shawna Dorr-Jones
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the December 9, 2019 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Nick Klisch, Cottonwood County Engineer

The sewer line to the Cottonwood County Shop located on State Highway 30 and County Road 4 was discussed.

Estimates for the work are as follows:
 $19,500  Sewer
 $11,700  Water
 $16,000  Materials
$47,200  Total

Motion Determan, second Barlow, unanimous vote that the city agrees to pay up to $35,000 of the total cost of water and sewer service for the Cottonwood County Shop.

City offices were reviewed by the council.

Motion Determan, second Barlow to keep the city offices the same, unanimous vote.

The City Does Not Waive Monetary Limits on municipal tort liability established by the Minnesota Statutes, Section 466.04 to the extent of the limits of the liability coverage obtained From the LMCIT.

Motion Determan, second Barlow to approve the cigarette, liquor and pool table licenses, unanimous vote.

Motion Determan, second Barlow to change the on sale liquor license price to $750, unanimous Vote.

Motion Determan, second Barlow, unanimous vote to increase the city staffs wage by 2.25%. Motion Determan, second Barlow to increase the dangerous dog fee to $150/year, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:33 p.m.
