City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

he Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on March 9, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Jacob Barlow, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the February 24, 2020 meeting were approved as read.

Visitors: Nick Klisch  Cottonwood County Engineer; Allen Johnson- Jeffers Caf Klisch presented a resolution for review and explained projects for future months.

Seconded: Barlow
Unanimous Vote

Johnson was present to receive approval from the council for a Classic Bike, Car and Tractor Roll-in to be held on May 9th. If this goes over well, he would like to hold this on a monthly basis during the summer.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Barlow to increase the city hall janitors wage to $20/hour.
Yes votes: Prins, Barlow, Dorr-Jones, Determan Abstains: Ryker

Motion Ryker, second Barlow, unanimous vote to increase the city councils pay to $1,800  mayor and $1,400 for council members beginning January 1, 2020.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:24 p.m.
