City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on April 13, 2020 via conference call at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Jacob Barlow

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the March 9, 2020 meeting were approved as read.

RESOLUTION # 2020-05 POLICY TO ALLOW PAYMENT BEFORE COUNCIL AUTHORIZATION

Unanimous vote.
Amber Nissen a tenant at 203 N. Best has requested that a building inspector inspect the rental house she lives in to deem in condemned. Jerry Bauer is a certified inspector and he will inspect the property for $375. The city is obligated to supply an inspector for this purpose.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to hire Bauer.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to install a 14 x 14 garage door at the water plant.

The water plant will be spray foamed. The insurance company will insure the property after this is done and it will increase the value.

The clerk announced that business from last month regarding the council and mayor pay increase cannot take effect until January 2021.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:22 p.m. having no further business.
