City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 24th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Jake Barlow

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the August 10, 2020 meeting were approved as read.

The clerk announced that the dog that was declared dangerous at the August 10, 2020 meeting was euthanized.

The clerk spoke with the city attorney regarding the nuisance ordinance violations and was informed of the steps to take to abate the violations.

City attorney Schramel will draft a new liquor ordinance due to the former ordinance referring to state statutes that no longer exist. The council tabled discussion on Sunday liquor until the next meeting.

A letter will be sent to a resident regarding the dog feces in his yard.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills
Motion Ryker, second Determan adjourn at 8:10 p.m. having no further business.
