City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on September 14th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Jake Barlow, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the August 24, 2020 meeting were approved as read.
Ordinance No. 72 REGULATING THE POSSESSION, SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING AND 3.2 PERCENT MALT LIQUOR WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERS MINNESOTA was presented.
Motion Determan, second Barlow, unanimous vote.
Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to establish a fee of $50 for a Sunday Liquor license on/off sale and for hours to fall within state guidelines.
The 2021 Preliminary Levy was presented at $198,450.00. There is no increase for this year.
Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote for the levy to remain at $198,450.
The 2021 preliminary budget was presented. Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to accept the preliminary budget for 2021 as presented.
Motion Ryker, second Determan unanimous vote to allow the clerk to apply for a business credit card for the City of Jeffers.
Street Maintenance was discussed. Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to accept a bid from Bargen for a maximum of $20,000.
Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial reports.
Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. having no further business.
