City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on September 28th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Jake Barlow

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the September 14, 2020 meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Peggy Hubley, Amboy Township

Hubley was present to request a streetlight at the corner of Best Avenue and Peavey Street to aid in security for the Amboy Township hall.

Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.

Windom Towing will be able to assist with removing junk vehicles from the city.

Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to disperse Cares Act funds to two small businesses and a local organization.

The Cottonwood County Snow Agreement was reviewed. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to hire Holts Cleaning to clean the vents at city hall.

Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to have Rons Electric replace the fuse box at the ponds.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 8 p.m. having no further business.
