City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on March 22, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Jacob Barlow, Curt Determan and Shawna Dorr-Jones Sharen Goeman, clerk. Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the March 8, 2021 meeting were approved as read.

Mayor Prins reported that he had spoken to the Sheriff you must be 16 years of age to drive a motorized vehicle on a public road.

Therefore, it is not permitted to drive any go-cart, mini-bike, ATV, or golf cart if you are under the age of 16 on any street or alley within city limits.

The council completed a contract with Hometown Sanitation for city wide cleanup.

The clerk presented a proposal for a new copier from the Gordon Flesch Company. The clerk will get more information and report back at the next meeting.

Animal control reported to the city clerks office that a city resident is keeping ducks on their property. The council instructed the clerk to send a letter referencing minutes from 2012 that ducks are considered farm animals and not permitted within city limits.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills. Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:13 p.m.
