City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on November 8, 2010 at 7:00 PM at City Hall.  Present:  Mayor Brad Prins; Council members:  Curt Johnson, Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Council member elect:  Sheila Ryker

Visitors:  Craig Mueller, Wenck

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Minutes of the October 25, 2010 meeting were approved as read.

The council reported issues to Mueller regarding sidewalks, street lights and drop of sidewalk to curb.

Dorr-Jones asked Mueller if the alleys will be graveled and yards put back to previous condition.  Mueller reported that they would be put back and reseeded, either now or in the spring.

Craig Mueller presented a pay request from Quam of $200,703.80.

Motion Determan, second Johnson, unanimous vote to approve the pay request.  The clerk will send this check to Cottonwood County and they will send it to Quam.

Mueller reported that McGuire Iron completed the problems with the water tower. 

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay the final bill on the water tower.

Discussion was held on trees in the boulevard.  Slim Sinnamon sent some information for the council.  The mayor will check into this further.

The council reviewed the Winter Maintenance Agreement between the City and Cottonwood County for the winter season 2010-2011.  Motion Johnson, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve the agreement.

Johnson presented the Fireman’s Pay Report.  Motion Duroe, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve the Fireman’s Pay Report.

Lance reported he ordered 225 meters from DSG.

Lance will order flags for the new fire hydrants.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Johnson, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:32 p.m. having no further business.
