City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 9, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan.
Absent: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Jacob Barlow, Sharen Goeman, clerk, Lance Holmen, maintenance.
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Minutes from the July 26, 2021, meeting was approved as read.
Old business of the Eastwood dangerous dog incident was discussed.
Jasper has never been loose in Jeffers
Eastwoods have met all the requirements
Fed Ex was supposed to deliver on Monday not Sunday
Eastwood would like to put an underground fence in Windom along with Jasper will be always muzzled. Jasper is starting with a trainer next week with Paws Abilities.
The council has the following requirements to allow Jasper another chance:
Have the trainer write up notes at the first consult if the dog can be trained.
Motion Determan, second Ryker. Opposed: Prins, Determan yes, Ryker Yes. Motion passed.
Jeffers Fire Department requested to purchase a four-wheeler for the department. Cost will be $14,000 to $16,000. They will trade in the one they currently have.
Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to purchase a new ranger for the fire department.
Motion Determan, second Ryker, to pay all bills, unanimous vote.
Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 8:23 p.m. with no further business, unanimous vote.
