City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on September 23, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Jacob Barlow, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, clerk. Absent: Lance Holmen, maintenance.
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the August 23, 2021, meeting were approved as read.
A building permit for Farmers Coop Oil was reviewed. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the building permit.
The Cottonwood County Snow/Ice Agreement was reviewed. Motion Barlow, second Dorr- Jones, unanimous vote to approve the agreement.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to raise the 2022 Levy 2% to $202,419, unanimous vote.
The clerk presented the proposed 2022 Budget. Changes to the council/mayor annual pay were noted and will be changed to $8,000 for 2022. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the 2022 budget with the noted changes.
The clerk will check with the city attorney regarding a lease with Ruth Ann Determan for the city sign.
Motion Ryker, second Barlow, unanimous vote to purchase ten pagers from the Ambulance Equipment account.
The mayor reported the ambulance has electrical issues and Higley Ford will be working on it.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to pay all bills, unanimous vote.
Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. having no further business.
Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to adjourn having no further business at 7:45 p.m.
