City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on September 27, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sharen Goeman, clerk, Lance Holmen, maintenance. Absent: Council member: Jacob Barlow.

Visitor: Carol Eastwood

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the September 13, 2021, meeting were approved as read.

Mayor Prins reported that he spoke with Stevie Mathre of Paws Abilities Dog Training regarding the Eastwoods dog Jasper. Mathre has been collaborating with Carol Eastwood and her dog Jasper since August 16, 2021. Mathre is a certified professional dog trainer.

Mathre reported that she is extremely comfortable with the efforts of the Eastwoods and their dedication to keeping the community and Jasper safe. Jasper has shown excellent progress in training exercises. He responds to cues quickly and accurately.

The council was happy with this report and agreed that Jasper can remain with the Eastwoods. The clerk will forward this report to the Animal Control Officer.

The clerk reported that the city attorney will draw up a permanent easement between Ruth Ann Determan and the City of Jeffers for the city sign placement.

Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to sell parcel #21-4141210 which was recently obtained by the city for $175.65 to Tyson Anderson for $175.65.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8 p.m. having no further business.
