City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on December 13, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Jacob Barlow, Sharen Goeman, clerk. Lance Holmen, maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the November 22, 2021, meeting were approved as read.

RESOLUTION #2021-10 DESIGNATING POLLING PLACE FOR 2022

RESOLUTION #2021-11 APPROVING THE 2022 TAX LEVY
Adopted: Dorr-Jones Second: Barlow

RESOLUTION #2021-12 APPROVING THE FINAL BUDGET FOR 2022
Adopted: Dorr-Jones Second: Determan
Unanimous vote.

Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones to approve a 2.75% pay increase for city staff. Unanimous vote.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote to increase city janitor pay to $25/hour. Ryker  abstained.
    
The clerk will send a letter to a resident regarding dogs.

Lance presented an estimate for replacing the doors on the fire hall. The estimate from Gramstad Lumber was $12,000.

Motion Ryker, second Barlow, unanimous vote to purchase three overhead and one walk thru doors from Gramstad Lumber.

The clerk will contact the city attorney regarding the Red Rock Rural Water contract.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills through the end of 2021 and there will not be a meeting on December 27, 2021.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:08 p.m. with no further business.
