City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on March 28, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Jacob Barlow. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Absent: Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the March 28, 2022, meeting was approved as read.

Visitors: Paul Burkhardt - Auditor

Paul Burkhardt presented the City of Jeffers Financial Statement for 2021.

Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve the financial report for 2021.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to purchase the property at 112 W. Whited Street from Myron and Debra Cermak for $2,000. The clerk will contact the city attorney to begin process.
Building permits were reviewed. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote to approve the building permits pending Lances approval.

Increasing water rates was discussed due to the deficit in the water fund. Tabled until the next meeting.

The clerk will check with the Fire Department auditor to see when the city must pay into the relief association.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:20 p.m. having no further business.
