City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on June 13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Jacob Barlow, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance Absent: Curt Determan

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the May 23, 2022, meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Alex Pieffer
Pieffer was present to object to the letter he received regarding a flag/sign on his property that has received complaints.

After discussing the wording on the flag/sign the council decided that the profanity is not sexually explicit and according to Ryker, the Oxford dictionary states it is an expression of anger. The council then told Pieffer he can disregard the letter.

Mayor Prins stated that the Jeffers Fire Department has decided to add their own General Account to their Relief Association.

Lance reported that the pump at the ponds needs maintenance. The grader is also having maintenance done.

Letters will be sent to residents with noxious weeds.

Motion to pay all bills Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Barlow, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:40p.m. with no further business.
