City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on July 11, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Jacob Barlow, Curt Determan Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the June 13, 2022, meeting was approved as read.

No meeting was held on June 27, 2022, due to a lack of a quorum. Visitor: Rosemary Wendland
Wendland was present to inform the council that Jeffers will turn 125 in 2024. Wendland plans to start a committee to plan a celebration. The council fully supports her effort.

The council discussed semis parking on city streets.

The clerk will send a certified letter to a resident regarding the abatement of an ordinance violation.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to approve the extension of a building permit.
Motion Ryker, second Barlow, unanimous vote to approve a fence permit. Lance reported that the house on Whited Street will be cleaned out on July 16th. The clerk will contact Zieske regarding surveying property for the firehall. Motion to pay all bills Dorr-Jones, second Barlow, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:40p.m. with no further business.
