City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on October 24, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent council member: Jacob Barlow.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the October 10, 2022, meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Jed Rhubee  Jeffers Fire Chief

Chief Rhubee was present to receive approval for the purchase of a Jaws of Life package from the Hanley Falls Fire Department at the cost of $15,000.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve the purchase from the general fund.
Lance reported that Rons Electric will be wiring the city sign soon.

Holmen requested the approval to purchase a new metal detector at the estimated cost of $800. The council agreed to the purchase.

Motion Ryker second Determan, unanimous vote to hire Bargen to sweep the streets this fall.
The clerk will contact the city attorney regarding city business. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m. with no further business.
