City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on January 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Council members: Roberta Duroe, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent: Mayor Brad Prins
Council Member Shawna Dorr-Jones called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the December 13, 2010 meeting were approved as read.
New Council Member Sheila Ryker was sworn in and signed the oath of office.
Pay Request #3 for Quam was reviewed by the Council. The city’s share is $185,617.08.
Motion Determan, second Duroe, unanimous vote to pay the request.
City positions were reviewed for 2011. Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the following city positions.

The animal control position was discussed. Sandy Olson would like to try the position. Motion Duroe, second Ryker to appoint Sandy Olson to Animal Control for the City of Jeffers, unanimous vote.
The clerk reported that $67,209.72 of assessments were paid for the 2010 Street Improvement project.
In addition, $128,070.37 of assessments were unpaid and were certified with the County Auditor to be included with Real Estate taxes over a period of twenty years at 5% interest.
Motion Determan, second Duroe, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:02 p.m. having no further business.
